ROW80 Goals Update 10/4/12 (original goals post)

Wednesday (Slack tide, shifting to high tide) -

  • Completed and posted my OctPoWriMo poem, “Coffee-Flavored Conversation”.

  • Completed and posted my ROW80 update.

  • Moved more firewood.

  • Watched Presidential debate with Jeremiah, and discussed.

  • Began freewriting my ROW80 sponsor post.

  • Philosophical and political Facebook discussions.

Thursday (Slack tide, shifting to high tide) –

  • Completed proofreading Annalise’s IHIP.

  • Created a new blog for Annalise’s reporting, because I ran out of pages to do it on The Unfettered Life.

  • Linked Annalise’s Reporting Pages, 2012-2013 to The Unfettered Life.

  • Posted all reporting topics and IHIP to the new blog.

  • Answered several comments at shanjeniah.

  • Began proofing Jeremiah’s IHIP.

  • Created a blog for Jeremiah’s reporting, and began to post pages to it, as the editing of each section was completed.

  • Completed, posted, and shared my OctPoWriMo poem, “Storms and Rainbows”.

  • Changed the header of The Unfettered Life to accommodate tabs for pages.

  • Minimal hometending – dishes, laundry, a little tidying.

  • Completed my sponsor visits for the 10/4 check-in, and began to share links to my Writer page.

  • I began editing pictures in Picasa – pictures of the kids and their doings. I will be sorting them into albums, then uploading.

  • Read several poems from other OctPoWriMo participants, commented, and began sharing to my Writer Page.

  • Edited the photos of Jeremiah’s PASS test scores for the school district.

  • While half-asleep and preparing for bed, the opening scene of my NaNo novel began to untangle itself – just in time to be dreamed on! =D

Friday (High tide, with traces of slack tide)-

  • Allowed lots of time for some nascent ideas to coalesce…the beginning of my November NaNo novel has unraveled tangled bits of the as-yet unwritten ending of my August Camp NaNo novel, To Be Or Not To Be.

  • Experimented with taking a very brief solo walk – I love walking with the children, but am beginning to feel a need to walk alone, too, so that I can feel my stories moving through me. As the children get a little older, it will maybe be possible for me to do this, once in a while.

  • Hometending – dishes, laundry, general tidying in a basic sense.

  • Added a tab for Miah’s Reporting Page blog to The Unfettered Life.

  • Wrote an intro post for Miah’s reporting blog.

  • Began an endless game in Cake Mania 2. The patterns and rhythms feed my writing while allowing my deeper mind to play and attend to the stories and poems there.

  • Revised the portion of my sponsor post I wrote on Wednesday.

  • I figured out how to put photos of Jeremiah’s test scores into a LibreOffice document in preparation for emailing to the school district with the IHIP packet.

  • Completed and posted my OctPoWriMo poem, Invisible?.

  • Completed the packet for the school district, wrote an accompanying letter, and emailed the whole kit and kaboodle. Hoping the superintendent will read the law more carefully, and be more reasonable, than he has been the last two years. Next paperwork due Dec. 1.

  • I did nearly 600 words of freewriting on ideas for the ending of TBONTB, blending with the beginning of KOIS. It felt good to be setting ideas down, and doing so spurred more ideas and more mulling.

Saturday – (High tide; slack tide fading) –

  • Answered several more comments at shanjeniah; discovered a new way to ascertain whether I have previously responded to backlogged comments.

  • Some significant hometending: cleaning in garage, my office, living room organization, family room, playroom (enclosed porch), my bedroom, bathroom sink scrubbed, laundry and dishes.

  • I added several paragraphs and a bulleted list to my ROW80 sponsor post. It’s now within the word range, and I believe it is complete except for revision..

  • I completed a very deep and true poem, Enough, for OctPoWriMo Day 6.

  • Completed the rough draft of my sponsor post.

  • Spent some time freewriting a brainstormed list of general Ebb Tide activities, and projects I would like to begin over the coming days.

  • I read and commented on some other poets’ OctPoWriMo offerings.
