Just a quick update tonight – I’m running late with this, I have scenes to read and to write, and I’m tired…
Both of these are Spock scenes – the resolution and the epilog.
I mentioned on Sunday that I haven’t been satisfied with the way my previous WIPs have ended. Thanks to Rock Your Plot, my plan for this novel has given me a new way of seeing them, and the three resolution scenes I’ve written thus far are much better than any others I’ve written.
And now I get to spend the rest of the novel with Spock….something to be extra happy about, this Thanksgiving.
I project I will complete the novel before Saturday. So, for Sunday, I will be posting just a few thread-raveling goals to carry me through the rest of the round. The balance of the goals will be evaluated, and some will be moved to Round 1 of 2014.
Whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving, Thanksgivukkah, or just a regular Thursday, may you find delight today and everyday!
King of Shreds and Patches – Complete ~ 100,000 word draft during NaNoWriMo 2013. On target.
Completed Scenes: 58/60. Two to go! =)
Word Count: 116,512/ ~100,000. (Word count goal exceeded!)
Completed Chapters: 15/17; Chapter 16 in progress.
And to wrap up the prepping phase:
Chart vital stats for each scene: (the old whowhatwherewhenwhyhow). Target attained!
60/60 scenes completed!
Set up scenes in Scrivener. Target attained!
60/60 scenes set up!
Double check all notes and prep for consistency. Target attained!
60/60 scenes completed!
Made some changes to the plan; and I’ve found one very minor inconsistency (what month it is on Earth), that can be easily resolved. No huge plot holes to deal with!
Tidying and beautifying my physical, virtual, and interior spaces.
Although it’s not listed, I have done a fair amount of general hometending, in various spaces, throughout this session.
Exercise and Movement.
Make time and sweetness for Jim, in ways that are meaningful to us both, and in ways that are important to him. Target attained!
Romance, more attention to smoothing my nighttime activities while he sleeps.
Do the same for the children, individually and together. Target attained!
Time, conversation, snuggles, helping with purchases. I also had a not-so-sweet time of losing my temper. I’m grateful that this happens less and less over time, and is shorter lived. I made tangible apologies to both children for my poor behavior.
Immerse myself in writing, living, and being with my family, striving for presence. Target attained!
Yes. Hometending, family time, writing, and outings blended together well.
Regularly evaluate; adjust as needed. Target attained!
I need to adjust some things in my perception of clutter. I am considering some organizational changes and repurposing of furniture to help with the problem.
Jim came home on Tuesday with a reconditioned washer to replace the one that’s been limping along. This one is high-capacity and computerizes – FANCY!!!
Now everyone wants to do laundry, but only I seem to want to put it away – I did about four loads today, and there are three more in various states of completion.
Practice movement daily, for at least a few minutes. Target attained!
Tend sponsor duties promptly. Target attained!
