Weaving 444 Threads and 122, 488 Words: ROW80 Update, 12/1/13

Here we are, all the way round the year to December, again. Are you where you thought you’d be at the beginning? Somewhere unexpected? Somewhere between here and there, poised for….?

I’ll be spending some time, this month, looking back, and forward…and I won’t be forgetting Now – the only instant we ever own, the only one we can ever directly act upon. I’ll be weaving past, present, and future, like Scrooge’s ghosts, divining what meaning and learning and delight I can find there….

(Yes, I am a member of the Muppet Generation, and this delights me!)

This Now is an exhilarating one:

  • This post marks the 444th post on this blog.

  • I’ve attained my goal of completing an entire WIP rough draft during NaNo!

  • We’ll be popping by the local NNWM TGIO (Thank God It’s Over) party!

  • We’re warm and cozy, haveplans to see friends, and holiday cheering in the works.

  • My house is quiet, peaceful, and filled with my favorite people and things.

  • I’m thrumming with ideas, insights, and a wide-open sense of possibility!

And…it’s a book! From my mind!

In the coming days, I’ll be reviewing my NaNo experience, exploring holiday traditions, how we live, where I am, have been, and will be, and current events I’ve been thinking about. I’ll be picking up some loose threads, and seeing what I can create for the rest of 2013. I’ll begin making intentions and action plans for 2014. I will be with those I love, in various ways…I may even get brave, and offer an olive branch and mended fence or two. Without you, the people who come to read and to share, there wouldn’t be 444 posts on this blog. I hope, whatever December means to you, that you’ll drop by for a hot beverage (unless it happens to be hot where you are!) and a tasty blog treat – something that delights, inspires, amuses, gets you to thinking, noticing, dreaming…. I strive to be worth your time. Your precious, one Now, whichever one you read this in.

I don’t know if anyone else had this problem, but I think your link on the linkytools might be messed up. When I first clicked on it, it told me that this post wasn’t available. I edited out the http and it showed up.

Congratulations on 444 posts! I love palindromic numbers. My car’s odometer got to 61616 yesterday. Good luck with the goals!

      Kathy,

Hmmn, no one else mentioned it, but then, maybe they’re not able to…

I sometimes have that problem with other people’s posts – I usually refresh a time or two and that fixes it.

Thanks for letting me know. My husband is the one who really got me paying attention to number patterns, but now I notice them, and enjoy them.

I hope you enjoyed your special odometer reading!

  2. Holy cheese and crackers, Batman! What a superb list of accomplishments (and soon-to-be accomplishments)!

I’m excited for you. Then again, I’m always energized with #ROW80 and glad I found it this year. I hope you have a great round.

Looking forward to hearing more about all the good stuff in your life. It’s like fuel to keep my writerly train chugging along.

    Cheers,

    Tonette

      Thanks, Tonette!

I’ve been busier with other pieces of living, this week. Managed to get a bit of editing done, but the rest of the time was spent recharging and gathering input. Had a lovely weekend away, and now settling back into a rhythm that includes writing.

May this find you well and happy!

  3. Beth Camp says:

Just a wish for you to enjoy that hot chocolate and lots more writing in the month to come. Congrats on your NaNo achievement — and, yes, it’s a time for reflection as Round 4 nears its end with the end of the year. May your writing and all else continue to go well.

    • shanjeniah says:

      Beth,

What a sweet wish! I’m a little at loose ends, right now, just puttering at things set aside for NaNo. It feels good to get to them, again, and, since we have weekend plans that likely won’t leave lots of writing room, I don’t want to dive headfirst into anything too involved.

May the rest of your year include pleasing beverages, many luscious words, and an abundance of loved ones!
