My #oneword for 2019 is: Embrace. I want to open my arms wide to life in the new year –even
Tuesday, the day so often seen as ho-hum.
I want to give poor maligned Tuesday a hug.
Read on to learn more!
What’s this Try It Tuesday thing, anyway?
Try It Tuesday is one part how-to, one part home lab, and one part journal – a way
for me to explore some things I’ve always wanted to try, but never quite got
Oh…and I record every step of the way.
I’m hoping it will not only inspire
me, but also help you to take a look at your life in this new year, find
something you’ve always wanted to try, and, well – Try It!
How It Works:
Beginning today – January 1, 2019 – I’ll
present my progress on one Try It project each week of the month.
projects at a time!
I’m sharing the whole process: my initial research, gathering materials, the
actual nuts, bolts, laughter and tears (or laughing so hard I cry, as the case
may be) along the way…all of it!
When I finish one project, I’ll do a wrap-up highlight post, and reveal its
So… what’s the
first Tuesday Try-It?
I first started hearing about bullet journaling a couple of years ago. It sounded interesting, but I was busy with other things, and didn’t look into it until last summer.
Once I did, I knew I wanted to play. It suits my tendencies toward journaling, list-making, goal-setting, and getting creative with pretty much everything
I started by searching Amazon for a likely ebook, and found this one . That was enough to inspire me to get a dot-grid notebook (I chose this one), and start my first layouts…
But then life got busy. I set the journal aside, “Just For Now.” But other
things kept cropping up, and soon it was closing in on the end of the year…
I decided to wait and give this a go in 2019 instead. I gathered a few resources,
(which I’ll share below), and let go of my guilt. I bought a few tools to make the process flow more smoothly and pulled out the dot-grid journal (it’s still mostly empty, after all).

This month, I’ll begin to explore the world of bullet journaling – for real, this time.
Will I end up with loveliness, chaos – or a
liberal blend of both?
The only way I’m going to find out is by trying. You can find out by popping by Tuesday, January 29 to see what kind of (potentially beautiful) mess I’ve gotten myself into this time, and to find out the date of my next Bullet Journaling post.
What’s On Tap for Next Week?
This is an area where I’ve flailed for decades… but 2019 is the year I change all that – even if it takes me all year to do it! Come join me next Tuesday, January 8, to get this money-wrangling party started!
Until then, I’m off to do some bullet journaling!
